A rally to discover research starting in grade 2
In April, ESTACA organized an event dedicated to the discovery of research activities. Open to students from the 2nd year upwards, the research rally was an opportunity to discover the projects carried out by the School's teacher-researchers and doctoral students at the Laval and Paris-Saclay sites on a variety of subjects, including air quality, autonomous vehicles and the smart city.
This event is a fun opportunity for students to explore the school's laboratories through various manipulations and demonstrations. It's also an opportunity to find out more about research careers and talk to doctoral students and research professors.
Discover ESTACA's four research areas
The ESTACA'Lab research center responds to the environmental challenges facing transport, with the aim of developing solutions for sustainable, less polluting transport. ESTACA's teaching and research staff focus on the development of electric and autonomous mobility, functional composite structures and the reduction of pollutant emissions (electric vehicles, hybridization of energy sources, autonomous vehicles, etc.). Research is focused on four main areas: air quality, weight reduction, energy & control, and on-board systems.

Explore the laboratories through a fun rally
During the 2025 Research Rally, our future engineers took part in 5 or 6 workshops led by doctoral students or teacher-researchers. They carried out manipulations or demonstrations such as :
- Use of a thermal camera
- Wind tunnel handling
- Remote control of bubble ventilation Air quality
- Detecting emotions within a vehicle using AI
- Designing a braking function on the school's autonomous Twizy
- Discover the digital twin of a smart city
"This event allowed me to discover the hidden sides of the school, I had no idea there were so many research activities and laboratories. I was able to understand concrete applications of what is seen in class."
Antoine, 2nd year student
"I particularly appreciated the practical side of the workshops, which opened my mind to new prospects for further study.Research can complement our engineering training."
Clément, 2nd year student
" A wonderful discovery of a field that was very abstract for me, through the variety of laboratories and manipulations. I had no idea of the variety of publications by teacher-researchers. "
Jean Baptiste, 2nd year student
