RENTREE 2023 : ESTACA UNVEILS ITS EXCELLENT PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION RATE AND PRESENTS THE ROLL-OUT OF ITS CAMPUSES AND NEW DOUBLE DEGREES

ESTACA, a post-baccalaureate engineering school specializing in sustainable mobility, is continuing to roll out its strategic plan for the new school year, marked in particular by the very good rate of professional integration of its graduates, with 83% in employment before graduation. Its attractiveness remains undiminished, with an ever-increasing number of applications on Parcoursup and enrolments up by almost 5%. Our facilities are also continuing to expand, with the 2nd intake of students at our new Bordeaux campus and preparations for the opening of an extension in Laval next September. For the start of the new academic year, the School is offering a new program focusing on social and environmental responsibility, as well as 3 new double degrees.

"ESTACA is maintaining its objectives and ambitions for the new academic year: to train engineers capable of meeting the industrial challenges of sustainable mobility. By developing its campuses, the School is actively participating in the skills enhancement of its engineers through the diversification of its training courses and the creation of new areas dedicated to innovation and research. The extremely positive results of the professional integration of our graduates and the recruitment of new students confirm the relevance of ESTACA's strategic plan .With the creation of a new strategic studies department, ESTACA will continue to strengthen its differentiating positioning and attractiveness."

Jean-Michel Durepaire, Managing Director, ESTACA

83% of 2022 graduates in employment before graduation

ESTACA achieves an excellent level of employment for its engineering students before graduation, as shown by the figures from the 31st Conférence des Grandes Ecoles graduate integration survey, carried out during the 1st quarter of 2023 among ESTACA's graduating classes of 2020-2021-2022, i.e. over 600 alumni-respondents.
Nearly 80% of young graduates are currently working in the transport sector, including 44% in aeronautics
26% in the automotive sector. 15% live abroad.
It should be noted that some of our engineering students have chosen to continue their studies to acquire a dual skill or specialization as part of their career plans, or to set up their own company.

A growing workforce and increased attractiveness

With an increase in the number of applications on Parcoursup and greater selectivity, ESTACA confirms its attractiveness to young high school students. In September 2023, the School will welcome over 2,400 students in total, representing a 5% increase in enrolment, across its 3 sites: Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Laval and Bordeaux. Of our new students, 97% have passed their baccalaureate with distinction.
To keep pace with the continuing attractiveness of the school's entrance and graduate recruitment markets, the school is continuing to expand its campuses. In Mayenne,ESTACA is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its 1st graduating class in Laval in 2003, and is continuing to expand with an extension to its building.
The Laval facility will double in size to accommodate 1,100 students by the start of the 2024 academic year. Students will have access to 12,000 m² of space dedicated not only to training, but also to research and innovation, enabling them to diversify their student base, develop new training offers and improve reception conditions. The campus will also benefit from a 500 m² test track to meet experimentation needs. The Bordeaux campus, due to open in October 2022, will welcome its 2nd intake of 122 3rd and 4th year students , including 62 new students.

2023 academic year: CSR awareness and new double degrees

In 2023, the new academic year at ESTACA will focus on social and environmental responsibility. To raise awareness among the 500 new students and ease their integration into the school, on September 6 and 7, students from all three sites will be taking part in 2 Tons workshops on the urgent issue of climate change, as well as theatre-forum sessions on the fight against discrimination and sexism. Year 2 students are also taking part in OGRE (Ordre de GRandeur des Énergies) workshops, a collaborative serious game designed to help them understand the challenges of the energy transition. Last but not least, the training reform currently underway will ensure that our skills in the field of sustainable and responsible engineering are raised to meet the challenges of socio-environmental transitions.

In addition, 5th year students will now be able to join 3 new double degrees:

  • Master's degree in "Management of 3D Interactive Technologies" (MTI3D) from Arts et Métiers , designed to train experts in the field of immersive technologies for transport, this course delivers, in addition to the ESTACA engineering diploma, a Master's degree in Science and Technology, with a major in Industrial Engineering. On completion of this course, engineers will be able to create new products and services for mobility based on virtual technologies (virtual reality, augmented reality, Web3D).
  • Master 2 specializing in "Spatial Challenges and New Applications" (NEWSPACE) at the Université
de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) with the aim of providing knowledge of the entire chain, from the concept of scientific observation instruments to data processing, in order to meet market demands and the new professions linked to emerging applications: miniaturization and fleets, drones... This program will enable students to obtain a Master 2 degree from UVSQ and an engineering degree from ESTACA.
  • Defense and Security in Space" Specialized Master (DefSiS ) offered under an agreement signed this summer with the Ecole de l'Air et de l'Espace (EAE). The aim of this course is to train civilian and military managers with an integrated vision of space system security for civilian and defence space operations.
