As part of a partnership with the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, ESTACA students presented workshops on plastics recycling on January 20 and 21.

An engineer, a project: introducing children to the engineering approach

ESTACA has been a partner of the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie for several years, as part of its 'Un ingénieur, un projet' program, which aims to popularize the themes on which engineers work. Over several weekends, students from the PÉGASE association (Projetd'Eveil Généralaux Activités Scientifiquesà l'Ecole) offer fun experiments to familiarize children with scientific experiments and introduce them to the experimental approach.

Workshops to learn how to better treat and recycle waste

Water is less and less pure, more and more polluted by micro-particles of plastic, antibiotics and the various materials we throw away. With global warming, this vital liquid for all living things is becoming increasingly scarce. On January 20 and 21, 2024, the Cité des Sciences organized a week-end dedicated to the theme of " Waste, water, engineers' solutions ". The aim: to show how engineers are providing solutions for treating and recycling waste, and for collecting, protecting, saving, treating and recycling water. Various topics will be addressed in the different workshops: How do engineers integrate these data into manufacturing processes? What are the cycles of waste and water? What innovations are needed to recycle waste and preserve water quality and quantity?

Timothée, Elisa, Valentin, Florence, Lisa and Chloé, ESTACA students from the Pégase association, led a workshop for children on how to recycle a plastic bottle using experiments.
