Student life didn't stop over the summer! Whether through associations, projects, or on a personal level, students have been active:

Spatial

ESO was present at the C'Space campaign with Bertha, a rocket measuring 4m40 and weighing 50 kg! It was a real challenge for ESO to design such an imposing and technically complex rocket. Bertha also carried the ODDS experiment, introducing artificial intelligence to detect fake space debris floating around. Bertha's team worked for 5 years on a superb nominal torch flight, a status created especially for Bertha! Despite the flight's ballistic qualification, the images are very impressive, and Bertha wins the title of biggest rocket ever launched at C'space.

ESO also flew 5 mini-rockets and a sounding balloon equipped with #ESL1 's on-board electronics to test its operation. The experiment was a success, with the balloon reaching an altitude of 32 km.

Aeronautics

  • LUCAS OYAUX: took part in the Junior Gliding World Championships in Poland, then the French Junior Championships, where he won first place.

Automobile

  • ESTACARS: first participation of the team with their Concept Car in Formula Student UK

Modelling

  • SIERA won first place in the Float, Lift & Fly Contest 2023 organized in July by Flying Whales, whose aim is to design an airship transport system capable of moving objects.
  • SIERA and ESTACA MODELISME took 2nd place in the Safran Droneload competition at the Paris Air Show.

Humanitarian

ESTACAIDE was in Morocco this summer. For 4 weeks, teams built a work building for women in Timsekrine. Our students also spent a few days with the village children, helping the teacher during summer school.
